Many cyclists like to determine speed, time and distance travelled. Normally this is done with a simple bike computer.? However, there is a new and much better method to do this, using a portable (or handheld) GPS system.? An example of this is a Garmin Edge 205.??

The greatest advantage of these systems is the increased information provided.? With a GPS system not only will you get your speed, time, direction and distance travelled.? You’ll also get the route that you took so that you can determine if there is a better route.? As well, you can import your route in some programs and you’ll be able to tell your elevation change.? The more advanced programs will actually tell you your speed in relation to the elevation changes.?
With all the increased information it’s a ’no brainer’ to get a portable GPS system for your bike.
